The Time is Near

Hello Bride of Christ,

It is baseball playoff season for those of you who did not know. As a baseball fan I watch each game and with every pitch and every at bat I sit anxiously waiting to cheer! Baseball many will say is a slow moving game, but ironically every play is based on decisions made in seconds. When I was a young softball player I remember this conflicting feeling as I fielded. It seemed to take forever for a batter to hit the ball, but once they did time seemed to speed up and you only had seconds to make the right choice. Therefore before every batter you had to be aware of the situation. Were there runners on the bases? Were there already outs in the inning? If the ball came to me where should I throw it? Awareness became key! So it is with our Lord Jesus and these days we are living. Are you aware of the time?

"Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

~ Revelation 22: 7

Days often pass by quickly, yet weeks seem so long. Words like quickly, shortly, immediate, in the twinkling of an eye are all associated with Christ's return. A sense of speed with purpose is often alluded to with His return. However, like a baseball game, life can seem to be moving at snail speed. The Lord's coming can some times feel so far from today or tomorrow. Hence, the encouragement to always be watching with readiness. Make sure to be the bride found looking with her oil jars filled to the top. As the angel spoke to John in the book of revelation, I want to encourage you all to know "these words are faithful and true." (Revelation 22:6) Jesus will come back.

We do not need to concern ourselves with if He will return, but with our own readiness. We do not have to be concerned with when, but know that it is near. Each passing day our Lord is drawing near to the time of His return for His Bride. Are you ready? Do you long for His return?

The more I read scripture and learn about the promises of God. The more my understanding is enlightened to His purposes and His love for me and all those who He created. Game day excitement builds up within me. On bended knee I pray and read His word to know the signs of the times. I look for Jesus in every circumstance and for the word of prophesy of this book (Revelation and word of God) to come to pass because the time is at hand (Revelation 22:10). How about you?

Bride of Christ, in the book of revelation it is the Holy Spirit and the bride of Christ that say, "Come!" It was to the churches that Jesus sent His angel to testify to of His identity of being the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star (Revelation 22:16). So if the time of His return is drawing near and we are not saying, "Come Lord Jesus Come!" When will we? When will we as a unified church and bride call out to our bridegroom and beckon Him to come? It will begin to happen when we begin to truly believe what the angel told John "these words are faithful and true."(Revelation 22:6) Until we begin to see and live the word of God in our own lives. So I encourage you to sit in the word and begin to do His commands for in there lies not only blessings (Revelation 22:14), but a heart cry for Jesus to come and come back quickly!
